Poker Hand Scanner App
Handsight scans poker cards with your iPhone camera. Take one photo of the table and it reads every player’s hole cards and the board, then shows each player’s equity in Texas Hold’em, Omaha or 5 Card Omaha.
- Pick the game and take a photo of the table
- On-device AI reads every card and groups the hands
- See each player’s equity, then fix any misread card

How Card Scanning Works
A machine vision model on your phone finds each card in the photo and reads its rank and suit. Handsight then groups the cards into the board and each player’s hand, using the game you picked to know how many hole cards to expect: 2 in Hold’em, 4 in Omaha, 5 in PLO5.
With the cards known, a Monte Carlo simulation deals out thousands of possible runouts and counts how often each hand wins or ties. That gives every player’s equity, preflop through river, for up to 10 players in Hold’em and 6 in Omaha. Detection and the simulation both run on the phone, so it works offline.
Tips for a Clean Scan
- Set the game first. Pick Hold’em, Omaha 4 or Omaha 5 in the camera view before the shot. That tells the model how many cards to expect per hand.
- Shoot from above. Overhead shots work best. At a steep angle the card faces are harder to read.
- Keep every card visible. Cards that overlap or sit partly out of frame can be missed. Spread hole cards so the corner of each card shows.
- Use even light. Most tables and felts work. Avoid harsh shadows and glare on the card faces.
If a card is misread or missed, tap Edit on the results screen to fix it or add the missing card. The odds use your corrected hand.
Scanner vs Manual Calculator
A manual calculator needs every card tapped in: 4 cards for a heads-up Hold’em hand, but 20 for four players in Omaha and 30 for six players in PLO5. A scanner replaces that with one photo, which is what makes it practical at a live table. Manual calculators are still the better tool for range work, where there are no physical cards to photograph. See the comparison of poker odds calculator apps for both kinds.
Supported Games
- Texas Hold’em: 2 hole cards, up to 10 players

Questions
What is a poker hand scanner?
An app that reads playing cards from a photo instead of having you tap each one in. Handsight identifies the rank and suit of every visible card, groups them into each player's hand and the board, and calculates every player's equity.
Does it work with any deck of cards?
It is trained on standard playing cards across many decks, surfaces and lighting conditions. Unusual or heavily stylised decks may read less reliably; you can fix any misread card on the results screen.
Can I scan a photo I already took?
Yes. Pick a photo from your library instead of using the camera, for example to review a hand after the session.
Does scanning need an internet connection?
No. Card detection and the odds calculation both run on your iPhone. Photos stay on the phone unless you choose to share a hard-to-read one to help improve detection.
Is there a poker hand scanner for Android?
Handsight is iPhone only. It needs iOS 16.4 or later.
Can I use a card scanner at a casino?
That is up to the venue. Many card rooms restrict phones during a hand. Follow the house rules; Handsight is also useful between hands and for reviewing hands afterwards.
